Measurement of the Effects of Different Anesthetics in the Rat Thalamus by in vivo H NMR Spectroscopy at 16.4T

چکیده
Introduction Localized in vivo H NMR spectroscopy in the rat brain has demonstrated alterations in the concentrations of metabolites, mainly glucose, under various anesthetic agents. A high dose of pentobarbital showed significantly decreased glucose in the rat brain compared with rats under isoflurane anesthesia [1]. Similarly, a substantial increase of glucose was reported in rat cortex under deep thiopental anesthesia compared to rats under light α-chloralose [2]. In this study, we investigated differences of the neurochemical profile caused by anesthesia under two of the most used anesthetics, isoflurane and ketamine/xylazine, in the thalamus of the rat brain at 16.4T.

Regional Variations of Metabolite Concentrations in the Rat Brain Assessed with in vivo H MR Spectroscopy at 16.4T
Introduction In vivo H NMR spectroscopy provides a neurochemical profile containing invaluable information associated with energy metabolism, membrane metabolism, antioxidants and osmolytes [1]. Postnatal and regional changes in metabolite concentrations were reported in the rat [2] and the mouse brain [3], even in the very small region of the hypothalamus [4]. All these results demonstrated di...
متن کاملEffect Of Mercuric Chloride on the Cells Arrangment of the Diencephalon Region of Rat Embroys
Purpose: The study of effects of mercuric chloride on cells arrangment of diencephalon region (thalamus and hypothalamus) of Rat embryos. Materials and Methods: 36 Rat embryos from Sprague Dawley strain were selected and devided in to six groups. In three groups (control groups) normal saline solution and in three groups (experimental groups) 2mg/kg mercuric chloride were injected intraperiton...
متن کاملEvaluation of Minimum Scan Time for High Quality Quantitative in vivo H MR Spectroscopy at 16.4T
Introduction One of the critical problems in localized in vivo H NMR spectroscopy is the inherently low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), because of the low concentration of metabolites, in the order of 10-10 compared to the water signal [1]. Increasing the field strength is a promising approach to minimize the SNR problem. The purpose of this study was to investigate and determine the minimal numbe...
متن کاملRole of μ-opioid receptor in parafascicular nucleus of thalamus on morphine-induced antinociception in a rat model of acute trigeminal pain
The parafascicular nucleus (PFN) of thalamus, as a supraspinal structure, has an important role in processing of nociceptive information. In addition, μ-opioid receptor contributes to supraspinal modulation of nociception. In the present study, the effects of microinjection of naloxone (a non-specific opioid-receptor antagonist) and naloxonazine (a specific μ-opioid receptor antagonist) were in...
متن کاملPectin Film Coated Pellets for Colon-targeted Delivery of Budesonide: In-vitro/in-vivo Evaluation in Induced Ulcerative Colitis in Rat
Abstract The main objective of this study was to prepare colon-specific pellets of budesonide using pectin as film coating. Pellet cores of budesonide were prepared by extrusion / spheronization technique. Pectin, in different ratios was combined with Eudragit RS30D, Eudragit NE30D or Surelease to produce film coating. The dissolution profiles of pectin coated pellets were investigated in pH o...
